Problem: Last year 60 students enrolled in the Economies course. 01‘ the enrolled students, 90 percent took final exam. Two-thirds of the students who took the final exam passed in the final exam. What percentage of enrolled students did not pass the exam?

Correct Answer: 40 %

Explanation:

Students took part in the final exam = 60 x 90% = 54

Students passed in the final exam = 54 x-$\frac{2}{3}$ = 36

Of enrolled students = (60 – 36) = 24 students did not pass.

Fail percentage = $\frac{24}{60}$ x 100 = 40%.
