Problem: At 8:00 A.M. a car started from Dhaka towards Cox‘s Bazar at a speed of 50 km per hour. After one hour, another car started from Dhaka towards Cox’s Bazar at a Speed of 60 km per hour. After how much time and at what distance from Dhaka the second car will overtake the first car?

Correct Answer: 300 Km (from Dhaka) and after 5 hour

Explanation:

Since the Speed of first car 50 km per hour

After one hour of starting of the first car, the first car will ahead of distance 50 km.

Second car will overtake (60 – 50) = 10 km in 1 hour.

Second car will overtake 1 km in =$\frac{1}{10}$ hour.

Second car will overtake 50 km in = $\frac{50}{10}$ = 5 hours

After 5 hour distance (5 x 60) = 300 km from Dhaka, the second car will overtake the first car.
