Solution: Educational revamping process has been gained momentum on account of many reasons in the today’s world. Newly technological medium of communication and commutation, modern structural theory, illative teaching tools and education enable bringing about changes in each and every corner of society. Education by which the social power is brought to light a social process. This power swayes the state in our society. And a major part of education system is under the control of state. So educaion pollice taken by the government enables to bring about changes in the social systmps normally. Acknowledgement of the roles of education as a changing process of society is also noticed in the argumentation of American pragmatist education philosopher. He said that education is not merely a baseless mechanism; rather it is a social process. This process is illimitable. This motion is unremitting and changeable. It is not a factitious wave. is natural momentum of human life. Man reconstructs his life in this social platform by the mechanism.

Our banks-don’t have derivatives and they don’t have sub prime mortgages. Their investment in real estate sector has remained low. Yet there are risks and vulnerabilities in our financial sector. We need to strengthen our regulatory and supervisory system so that these risks can be identified well in advance and to ensure best practices in our banks.
Question 04. A sample of 20 production workers in a company earned the following net pay amounts after all deductions for a given week, rounded to the nearest BDT and arranged in ascending order. BDT 240, 240, 240, 240, 240, 240, 240, 240, 255, 255, 265, 265, 280, 280, 290, 300, 305, 325, 330, 340. Calculate the.
(a) mean, (b) median, (c) mode, (d) sample variance, and (e) sample standard deviation for this group of wages. 20
Question 05.Consider a pack contains 4 blue, 2 red and 3 black pens
a) If a pen is drawn at random from the pack, replaced and the process repeated 2 more times. What is the probability of drawing 2 blue pens and 1 black pen?
b) If 2 pens are drawn at random from the pack, NOT replaced and then another pen is drawn.
What is the probability of drawing 2 blue pens and 1 black pen?
Question 06. A representative of a community group informs the prospective developer of a shopping center that the average income per household in the area is BDT45.000. Suppose that for the type of area involved household income can be assumed to be approximately normally distributed, and that the standard deviation can be accepted as being equal to a = 5072,000, based on an earlier study. For a random sample of n = 15 households, the mean household income is found to be X = BDT44,000.
(Note: The normal probability distribution can be used even though the sample is small, because the population is assumed to be normally distributed and a is known.)
a) Test the null hypothesis that u = BDT 45, 000 by establishing critical limits of the sample mean in terms of BDT, using the 5 percent level of significance.
b) Test the hypothesis µ = BDT 45,000, by using the standard normal variable z as the test statistic.
Question 07.Questionnaire surveys are commonly used to collect data.
i) Define how you would calculate the response
rate in a survey.
ii) Describe what is meant by non-response bias and why this poses a problem when analyzing survey data?
iii) Explain the reasons for carrying out a pilot questionnaire survey.
Question 08.From the following table calculate the(a) Laspeyres birth rate index, (b) Paasche birth rate index and (c) Fisher birth rate index in 2009, using 2008 as the base period
Age Group | Number of women in 2008 | Number of live births in 2008 | Number of women in 2009 | Number of live births in 2009 |
15-17 | 3095 | 30 | 2985 | 28 |
18-21 | 4056 | 439 | 4027 | 401 |

Question 09. From the data for the period 1971 – I to 1988-IV for a country, the following regression results were obtained:
1)In $ M1_{1}$=-10.2571+ 1.5975 In $GDP_{1}$
t=(-12.9422) (25.8863)
$R^{2}$=0.9464 d=0.3254
2)$\Delta$In$M1_{1}$=0.0095 +0.5833$\Delta$In$GDP_{1}$
t=(2.4957) (1.8958)
R²=0.0885 d=1.7399
3)$\Delta$$v_{t}$=-0.1958$V_{t-1}$
(t=$\pi$)(-2.2521)
R² = 0.1118 d=1.4767
Where M1 = M1 money supply, GDP= gross domestic product measured in billions of BDT In is natural log, and v, represent the estimated residuals from regression 1.
a) Interpret regressions 1 and 2. What is the elasticity of Ml with respect to GDP and is statistically significant? Why or why not?
b) Do you suspect that regression 1 is spurious? Why?
c) Is regression 2 spurious? How do you know? From the results of regression 3, would you change your conclusion in b? and why? (hint: 5% critical t value is – 1.9495 and 1% critical value is -2.6277).
d)Now consider the following regression:
$\Delta$In$M1_{1}$=0.0084 0.7340$\Delta$In$GDP_{1}$ -0.0811$v_{-1}$
t=(2.0496) (2.0636) (-08537)
R² =0.1066 d=1.6697
What does this regression tell you ? Dose this help you decide if regression 1 is sourious or not ?
