Problem: A boy covers a distance of 6 km partly by walking and partly by cycling. If he cycles at 18 km per hour and walks at 6km per hour .and takes 35 minutes in all, find the distance be covers by walking.

Correct Answer: $\frac{9}{4}$ Km

Explanation:

Let, the distance the boy covers by walking is x km.

Then the distance the boy covers by cycling = (6 —x) km.

According to the question,$\frac{6-x}{18}+\frac{x}{6} = \frac{35}{60}$

x = $\frac{9}{4}$ Km
