ধরি, 40 টি কলমের ত্রয়মূল্য x টাকা

এবং 36 টি কলমের বিক্রয়মূল্য x টাকা

তাহলে 1 টি কলমের ত্রয়মূল্য $\frac{x}{40}$ হবে টাকা এবং বিক্রয়মূল্য হবে $\frac{x}{36}$টাকা ।

এখন 1% Discount দিয়ে $\frac{x}{36}$ টাকার কলমের বিক্রয়মূল্য হবে = 99% of $\frac{x}{36}$ টাকা
