ধরি, একক স্থানীয় অন্কটি = x

এবং দশক স্থানীয় = y

মূল সংখ্যাটি = (10y + x)

প্রথম প্রশ্নমতে, x = 2y + 1

দ্বিতীয় প্রশ্নমমতে, 10x + y – (10y+x) = 10y+x-1

=> 8x – 19y =-1

=> 8(2y+1) – 19y = -1 ……………….[x এর মান বসিয়ে]

y = 3

অতএব একক স্থানীয় অংকটি x = 2y + 1 = ( 2 x 3) + 1 = 7
