Problem: Two cars started from the same point and traveled in opposite directions. After 2 hours of traveling, the cars were 208 miles apart on a straight line. If the average speed of one car was 8 miles more than the other, calculate the average speed of each car.

Correct Answer: 56, 48 Mph

Explanation:

Suppose, Average speed of one car = x mile per hour

Speed of other car = (x + 8)mph

So, 2{x + (x + 8)} = 208

=> 2(2x + 8) = 208

=>4x + 16 = 208

x = 48 mph

Speed of other car =x + 8 = 48 + 8 = 56 mph.
