Explanation:

Let, the number of wining game be 3x

The number of losing games be x

According to the question,3x + 6 : x = 5 : 1

=> $\frac{3x + 6}{x}$ = $\frac{5}{1}$

=> 2x = 6x = 3

The team won before it played the last six games = 3x = 3 x 3 = 9
