Problem: A salesman earns Tk. 400 as commission during a normal 40 hour week. During a special sale this commission is increased by 25%. Find his commission if he works 60 hours! week during the sale?

Correct Answer: ans: Tk. 650.

Explanation:

Normally he earns commission for 1 hour = 400÷

40 = Tk. 10

if works 60 hours then his special sale = 60 – 40 = 20 hours

Normally he earns commission on 20 hours = 20 x 10 = Tk. 200

So, at 25% commission on special sale.

Tk. 100 Provides commission = Tk. 25

Tk. 200 Provides commission =TK.50

His total commission on 60 hours per week = Tk. 400 + 200 + 50 = Tk. 650
