Problem: Solve $\frac{x}{2}+\frac{6}{y}=9,\frac{x}{3}+\frac{2}{y}$=4

View all: RUPALI BANK LTD (CANCELLED) WRITTEN QUESTION (MATH) SOLVE | 2018

Correct Answer: (x. y) = (6, 1)

Explanation:

Solve $\frac{x}{2}+\frac{6}{y}$=9,

=> $\frac{xy+12}{2y}$ =9

=> xy+12 = 18y………..(i)

=> $\frac{x}{3}+\frac{2}{y}$ = 4

=> $\frac{xy+6}{3y}$=4

xy + 6 = 12y ………(ii)

Now, [(i) – (ii)] we have

xy+ l2 = 8y

xy +6 = 12y

___________

6 = 6y

=> y = 1

Putting the value of y in (ii) we have, (x$\times$1)+6 = 12$\times$1

=> x= 12-6

so, x = 6

(x. y) = (6, 1)
